Pilates is a whole-body exercise method, governed by six principles—concentration, control, centering, flowing motion, precision, and breath. With consistent practice, it develops strength, flexibility, control, and endurance.

Actively engaging body and mind, Pilates emphasizes optimal breathing, alignment, coordination, and balance, all with a particular focus on building a strong “powerhouse” — the center or “core” of the body that provides a stable foundation for all movement.

Pilates is used for general conditioning, athletic training or rehabilitation. Among its many proven benefits are improved concentration, core strength and stability, spinal flexibility, and balance, as well as increased energy and well-being. The exercises may be practiced on a mat or on specialized apparatus and are highly adaptable for all ages, fitness levels, and physical conditions.

I offer private training in Pilates as well as the various movement practices I teach - MELT Method, GYROKINESIS®, GYROTONIC®, and the Franklin Method®. These one-on-one sessions are available via zoom or in-person, depending on the method you choose and your location and are a powerful way to ramp up your skills, fine-tune your practice, and focus on your particular needs and desired outcomes.
