Pilates

00Find your flow.

Pilates is a whole-body exercise method, governed by six principles—concentration, control, centering, flow (or efficiency of movement), precision, and breathing. With consistent practice, it develops strength, flexibility, control, and endurance.

Actively engaging body and mind, Pilates emphasizes optimal breathing, alignment, co-ordination, balance all with a particular focus on building a strong “powerhouse” -- the center or “core” of the body that provides a 000 foundation for all movement.

Pilates is used for general conditioning, athletic training or rehabilitation. Among its many proven benefits are improved concentration, core strength and stability, and spinal flexibility as well as increased energy and well-being. The exercises may be practiced on a mat or on specialized apparatus and are highly adaptable for all ages and fitness levels and physical conditions.

“This could include your own words about PILATES, why you use it, what you’ve seen happen with various people as you’ve taught this program over the years.”
