Gyrokinesis
Gyrokinesis® is a movement method that addresses the body and mind, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and improving strength and movement efficiency. The movements flow together in rhythmic repetitions and coordinated breathing patterns that allow the joints to move through full range of motion without jarring or compression.
I first began teaching Gyrokinesis in response to a certain event and/or having observed a missing link or because I believe it’s important to be able to practice intentional movement mindfully on your own. This exercise method gives you incredible results in these ways. Many people comment on how exciting it is to rediscover fluid movement and open up range of motion they thought was lost.
Stretch your limits
Unlike the Gyrotonic Method® which uses specialized equipment, Gyrokinesis® is practiced on a chair, a mat and standing. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, practitioners become more reliant on their own proprioception to explore movement.
Gyrokinesis® is appropriate for all fitness levels and age groups. The benefits are a strong, connected musculoskeletal system, decompressed joints, awakened senses, and increased energy and well-being.
