Pilates
Restore your core.
Pilates is a whole-body exercise method, governed by six principles—concentration, control, centering, flow (efficiency of movement), precision, and breathing. With consistent practice, it develops strength, flexibility, control, and endurance.
Actively engaging body and mind, Pilates emphasizes optimal breathing, alignment, co-ordination, balance all with a particular focus on building a strong “powerhouse” -- the center or “core” of the body that provides a 000 foundation for all movement.
Pilates is used for general conditioning, athletic training or rehabilitation. Among its many proven benefits are improved concentration, core strength and stability, and spinal flexibility as well as increased energy and well-being. The exercises may be practiced on a mat or on specialized apparatus and are highly adaptable for all ages and fitness levels and physical conditions.
“Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit.” —Joseph Pilates
